Wow! Fabulous!

It was really sweet & flavorful too, but looks like we’ll only get 2 figs this year (I shouldn’t complain– the tree was just planted this Spring & it’s been hotter than hades & dryer than the Mohave here).

Congratulations! Lovely color. Bet it was delish.
Did you know that figs are very good for relieving stress/anxiety? Random factoid…I can’t remember where I found it. Some health book. But I keep a jar of preserves in my fridge, just in case.
Congrats again!

Thank you! I’m thinking of planting a loquat tree next year– also a good stress reliever (or at least a good sedative).
But figs are so decadent & delish. The best edible flowers!

Two items of possible interest:
keyhole gardens

Quick book review
Toolbox for Sustainable City Living: A Do-it-Ourselves Guide
===I had pre-ordered this one….The Rhizome Collective, who are based out of Austin, Texas, are well known for their rather impressive work on urban sustainability, and I really was looking forward to seeing what sort of book they would come out with.
===I must say, it is excellent. Very practical, it has a few very useful designs/discussion.

Keyhole gardens are an amazing take on the potager garden — they are literally saving lives in Africa & the Mid East!
& Rhizome has been an inspiration to me for years, I wish I lived closer, but I read about them & I’ve been eagerly anticipating *Toolbox for Sustainable City Living*.
I don’t buy many paper books these days, but that one is high on my must have list.
